I consider myself a biologist and anthropologist, using fashion and art as my research methods, transforming them into powerful tools that extend beyond their own disciplinary borders. I am driven by a deep interest in humankind in its natural yet constructed form, investigating how the dressed human is simultaneously celebrated and suppressed through cultural and historical structures, often embedded within fashion. My work, takes natural phenomena as a conceptual starting point to disrupt archaic views on society. Through this, I encourage people to reconnect with and embrace their animalistic nature

Made to measure
At Ninamounah, tailoring is more than shaping fabric around a body it’s an anatomical exploration of identity, instinct, and power. Each garment is constructed as a second skin; precise, visceral, and always in motion.
Tailoring by Ninamounah embodies the art of slowing down, of designing with intention and vision. With a multidisciplinary approach, each silhouette becomes a sculpture and a manifesto of freedom, an act of rebellion, and a tribute to the evolutionary body.
You can request pieces from past collections, commission a new design, or transform an existing garment. We also offer a curated archive of vintage tailoring, available for made-to-measure upcycled pieces.
Based on your needs and desires, we create a series of sketches that visualize the form, materiality, and anatomical details of your piece. The sketches act as a dialogue between structure and sensation a proposal for how the garment will live on and around your body.
Once a design direction is chosen, toile fittings are held in our Amsterdam atelier. These sculptural sessions allow us to shape and test the garment on your unique form.
Each garment is entirely handcrafted by our atelier team, shaped to move with you, not just fit you. During the final fitting, we refine the piece directly on your body.
